35 cognitive scientists by retrievalpractice.org

This is post #35 of 100 Posts in 100 Days and my day job is focused on the science of learning, so this list from the team at retrievalpractice.org just makes sense to share out. Searchable by topic, this list of 35 female cognitive scientists and their organizations is a gold mine of information.  I feel this might be a rabbit-hole worth going down over the school break.

The 10 Minute Rule with Gail Boushey of The Daily Cafe (Webinar Replay)

Earlier this month, I participated in this webinar hosted by my former colleague Gail Boushey.  In it she shared brain research from John Medina and explains how it can be applied in your daily lessons in the classroom.

Taken for Granted:  Satya Nadella is Building the Future (Podcast Episode)
Work Life with Adam Grant

I admit, anything by Adam Grant stands a good chance of making The Pulse on any given week.  This recent episode with Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft is no exception.  From the opening minutes, Mr. Nadella talks about being the first non-founder CEO of Microsoft, the need to “re-found” the company and its culture, and what it means to be a “learn it all” instead of a “know it all”.  Full of bits of inspiration and worth the listen.

Dirty Dancing Muppet Style

And because my friend, Kristen, said that once I watched this I’d never think of Dirty Dancing or The Muppets the same, I thought I’d pass this along, too.  (You might need to be “of a certain age”, like Kristen and I, to fully appreciate this clip.)
