Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
LinkedIn Post from S.K.T. Courageous Consulting
100 Posts in 100 Days has me stepping out of my comfort zone, so this sketchnote really speaks to me. I don’t know if I totally believe #3 right now, but I’m certainly feeling the other 9 in varying degrees.
Leadership Trauma (Online article)
As this article demonstrates, the struggles are real. And over the last several months, I’ve read a lot about the trauma that students, families, and teachers have faced. I’ve read less about the trauma that leaders have faced. What really resonated with me in this article is the future trauma. I can relate. I can not count the number of times that anticipating an individual’s or a group’s response to information or decisions to be shared has been a source of uncertainty and anxiety. Often, the result is an enormous investment of time in the anticipated event; time that I would have preferred to spend in the moment with my team, with teachers, and with students. This perspective was unique and valuable for me.
Extended Family
A variety of circumstances have led to me being apart from my immediate family the past couple of weeks. But, I have had more time with my extended family. My niece is smart, independent, and adventurous. She has an engineering degree from Gonzaga University and is both crew and a driver for hydroplane boats as her hobby passion. My nephews are an incredible combination of funny and sweet. I was so confused by the urgency of purchasing a Chicago Cubs oven mitt until I watched my nephew stuff it in his back pocket during his baseball game and then pull it out as his version of a sliding glove. 😂 My aunt, uncle, and dad are incredibly generous with their support and their storytelling. Laughter and nostalgia abound whenever I get to spend time with them. Spending time with my sister is just like we saw each other yesterday. And, in just 2 more days, I will be reunited with S & J, so that is something to look forward to.
WordPress.com Support
Online “self help” support that 🤞worked. For some reason, my LinkedIn connection for automatic posting failed me on posts 62-64. If all goes well, it will have worked for this post. And the written instructions on wordpress.com support made it happen. Thanks to this version of an SME (see Post 64)!
